POSITION:                   Safety Manager

DEPARTMENT:            Occupational Health & Safety

LOCATION:                   Hyrum, UT

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                                            

B.S. Safety Engineering or related field preferredMinimum 4 years experience in safety, preferably within food processing industry.Above average skills in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)Strong written, verbal, analytical, persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and managementTraining in CPR and first-aid preferredDetail oriented and strong multi-tasking skills                                  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains Compliance Programs, files and records in accordance with company and government regulations.   Responsible for, and makes recommendations for, compliance with federal and state regulationsPromotes and encourages participation in safety, health, and environmental programs; may need to aid in training Authorized (qualified) and Affected Safety classes      Inspects all operations being performed on a daily basis; such as, production, plant maintenance, and storage of material, for compliance with company standardsAssists supervisors with investigations on injury accidents and near miss incidents during corresponding shift and reports findings to Safety ManagerWrites reports implementing safety programs, trains employees, inspects facility for adequate fire protection, and ensures that all equipment is in good working condition,  conducts spot checks (verifications) on Supervisor PPE inspectionsMay be asked to escort employees of all agencies conducting safety, fire, and physical security audits of the facility.EOE/M/F/VET/DISABLED
