Safety Officer

The Safety Officer is the focal point toward HSE onboard the unit. The Safety Officer shall assist the rig management in ensuring that the HSE work on the unit complies with the established HSE policy and guidelines and that the work is in compliance with regulatory and client requirements. It is expected for the Safety Officer to be in the working areas for more than 7 hours out of their 12 hour shift.
Responsibility:
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the below,
Perform other work as directed.Emergency responsibilities as per station bill.Responsible for:
Promoting and implementing Noble HSE Policy.Coaching all personnel onboard in HSE related matters.Carry out site verifications and safety inspections.Ensuring that emergency preparedness and contingency plans, muster cards and alarm instructions are updated and adhered to.Maintaining and updating personnel training records as per approved training matrix.Conduct training on the HSE management system and rig site training courses as per approved training matrix.Participate in:
Establishing the yearly HSE plan.Incident investigations and root cause analysis.Daily meetings with OIM, department heads and customer.Emergency drills planning and execution.Risks analysis and Emergency preparedness analysis.Perform self-verification towards compliance and quality on a daily basis.Promoting the Stop Work Authority.Promoting the proper use of PPE and safe work techniques.The induction of personnel onboard.Assist in monitoring usage and control of hazardous material ensuring full adherence to company policies and local regulations.General responsibility:
Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of duties in accordance with the management system, instructions and training within Noble.
Documentation and record responsibilities:
Where responsibility is allocated the matching authority is also granted, unless otherwise stated. Stop any operation when deemed unsafe to continue.
Qualification requirements:
Involvement in the Behavioral Based Safety System (BBS).
