Day-to-day:
An employer in the Texas City, TX area is looking for a Safety Professional. This position will report directly to the assigned HES Safety Professional. This person will be responsible for the day to day safety operations for a project that will start with clearing hazardous waste from the building site and then oversee safety operations for the building of fractionation plants and oil storage tanks.
Daily responsibilities:
· Interface with project managers and contractors during construction for safety protocols
· Review all issued permits and acknowledge with initials. Authorize daily work permits as needed.
· Regularly visit assigned job site to observe on-going work and identify hazards.
· Correct and document observed hazards on the weekly report on a daily basis.
· Verbally report all observed hazards to the Person-In-Charge (PIC).
· All hazards involving Life Critical Safety Rules will be reported immediately to the HES Safety Professional and PIC.
· Coach and train employees on OSHA regulations and MPLX G&P safety standards/procedures.
· Participate and/or lead in on-site incident investigations.
· Assure proper incident reporting protocols are being followed
· Verify daily equipment checklists.
· Verify job qualifications and validating training certifications/credentials (i.e., crane operators, equipment operators, etc.).
· Assist environmental in assuring compliance.
· Ensure work progresses in a safe, environmentally sound, and orderly fashion
· Assist or lead in safety stand-down meetings.
Utilize positive reinforcement for safe behaviors.
