The Safety Program Lead will play a crucial role in maintaining our safety standards and ensuring the success of our projects at Pax River, MD. Job Duties: + Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs across multiple projects to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. + Provide expert guidance on safety protocols, risk assessments, and hazard control measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. + Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. + Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring that all personnel are fully aware of safety procedures and regulations. + Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution. + Review and approve safety plans, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. + Prepare and present high-level safety briefings and reports to senior leadership, highlighting key safety metrics, trends, and recommendations for improvement. + Lead safety committees and serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters within the organization. Certifications, Licenses, Physical Requirements, or Other Expertise Required: + A minimum of five years of specialized experience in safety program management, preferably in the construction, engineering, or industrial sectors. + Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards. + Experience in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs for large-scale projects. + Proven ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. + Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field from an accredited college or university. + Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is highly desirable. + Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise safety briefings to senior leadership. + Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior safety professionals. General Experience and Knowledge Requirements: + Five or more years of experience leading safety programs in a complex project environment, with demonstrated expertise in safety plan development and implementation. + Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local safety codes and regulations. + Ability to utilize safety management software and tools for tracking and reporting safety metrics. + Experience in conducting safety training sessions and workshops for diverse audiences. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple safety initiatives simultaneously. + Ability to prepare and provide high-level safety briefs to senior leadership.
