Description:

As the safety specialist you will work with our Plywood plant manager, supervisors, and hourly associates to support the continued focus on safety excellence at our Kettle Fall Plywood facility, with an emphasis on new hire onboarding and safety. The candidate must be able to work with all levels of management, be flexible with day-to-day activities, learn and promote all Boise Cascade safety procedures and programs, and create meaningful relationships with our associates.

Responsibilities:

Assist in leading efforts to develop and maintain a safety culture to improve the safety & health of all employees. Assist in administering and continually improving our new hire safety orientation and onboarding process. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Actively works to implement safety improvements to reduce workplace accidents and illnesses. Ensure our associates have the safety knowledge they need to perform safely in our facility. Assist with administrative tasks related to safety.   Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have at least a High School diploma, prior safety experience, and experience in related job function. Preferred candidate will have safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
