What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing all aspects of safety for moderately complex engineering assignments and assisting in managing the H&S program for the company.  This work will be performed under general supervision.  

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Developing and building relationships with clients in order to develop HSE consulting opportunities

Providing and/or assisting with industrial hygiene and safety consulting activities.

Maintaining online databases including: Isnetwrold.com - PEC Premier - Pics - Browz

Coordinating all client prequalification packages and safety performance evaluations as requested by clients.

Managing the Quarterly Random Drug Screening program.

Managing the annual Motor Vehicle Report program as well as developing and managing the Hargrove Driving Violation tracking program.

Managing the quarterly Job Hazard Analysis audit and report.

Performing and managing the monthly Mobile office inspection.

Identifying and managing Safety Award Applications, (ABC, AGC, CURT, CII, etc.).

Managing the Teammate Training Program for safety (registrations, notifications of annual expiration, etc.).

Managing the client site orientation program, (contact sites and obtain orientation training materials, post to HSE intranet page).

Assisting with the Hargrove subcontractor qualification program.

Maintaining H2S monitors including: Maintain the pool of monitors - Monthly calibration - Monitor and replace calibration gas cylinders - Replacement of deceased monitors

Assisting the Corporate Safety Leader with site visit scheduling for relationship building for site based teammates and with client HSE personnel.

Coordinating the monthly and quarterly Safety Meetings.

Documenting and publishing SLT meeting notes as well as leading SLT meetings as required.

Assisting with proposal development.

Managing safety team travel.

Registering and preparing materials for conferences and seminars for the safety team.

Developing and/or assisting in development of training presentations and safety chats for various Loss prevention topics and delivering to Hargrove teammates.

Assisting the Corporate Safety Leader in conducting site visits to support the Safety efforts at all Hargrove locations.

Familiarity with and utilizing department standards.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Public Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited university is required.

Certification: No certification is required for this position.  

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial safety, risk management and/or industrial hygiene experience.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and Safety principles and practices.

Extreme attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects efficiently and effectively.

Ability to perform work on an HSE project as directed, conduct required activities, maintain required documentation, and construct a meaningful report of activities.

Ability to participate on a small team to deliver on commitments.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Abilities Required:

Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
