**Job Title: Safety Specialist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team. This role involves developing and implementing safety policies, conducting safety audits, training staff, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Develop and implement safety policies by creating guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
+ Conduct regular safety audits, inspecting facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards.
+ Educate employees on safety protocols and procedures through comprehensive training sessions.
+ Analyze accidents and near-misses to prevent future occurrences through thorough investigation.
+ Ensure the organization adheres to local and federal safety regulations.
+ Start each day with a team meeting to discuss the day’s safety priorities and any incidents from the previous day.
+ Conduct inspections of various work areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
+ Lead training sessions for employees on safety procedures and emergency response plans.
+ Perform detailed safety audits, reviewing equipment, procedures, and practices to ensure they meet safety standards.
+ Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
+ Update safety policies and procedures based on the latest regulations and best practices.
+ Prepare reports on safety performance and incidents for management review.
+ Meet with department heads to discuss safety concerns and collaborate on solutions.
+ Summarize the day’s activities and plan for the next day’s tasks at the end of each day.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
+ Experience conducting safety audits and inspections.
+ Ability to educate and train employees on safety practices.
+ Proficiency in investigating incidents and analyzing safety data.
+ Familiarity with local and federal safety regulations.
+ Proficient in preparing detailed safety reports.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ OSHA certification.
+ Experience in policy development and review.
+ Excellent communication and consultation skills.

**Work Environment**

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, Texas.
