Responsibilities With assistance, coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related requirements (federal, state, local, and company).Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and procedures.Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and visitors.Conduct basic EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, and maintain detailed recordkeeping.Conduct incident investigations, to identify root cause and recommend preventative measures.Communicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.Properly respond to day-to-day EH&S related issues and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.Keep current on all applicable EH&S related rules and regulations.Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.Minimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GED2+ years experience of Environmental, Health, and/or SafetyAdditional Qualifications Agriculture or facility operation backgroundUnderstanding of barge, terminal, and facility practices & functionsDocumentation management & effective communication skillsAbility to complete OSHA 30 agriculture trainingBachelor's degree preferred in Environmental Health and Safety, or related fieldPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug and other necessary tasks.Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and operate equipment needed to inspect facilitiesAbility to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditionsCHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
