Qualifications
+ Monitor environmental, safety and health regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
+ Assist with organizational compliance with local, state and federal environmental, safety and health regulations.
+ Ensure that safety and health policy and procedure manuals, training materials, and general resources are available and updated at all times.
+ Verify compliance with health and safety policies; ensure training records, certifications, and evaluations are maintained in a confidential manner.
+ Conduct safety and health inspections to ensure operations are conducted in compliance policies and regulations. Manage deficiency tracking system to ensure abatement of identified deficiencies.
+ Facilitate safety and health training to improve overall safety performance.
+ Assist with development, enhancement, and implementation of training programs and protocols as directed by the Safety Director.
+ Investigate, document and report on employee and equipment/property accidents and injuries, and manage as assigned; utilize relevant data to eliminate or reduce the likelihood of future employee and equipment/property accidents.
+ Continually communicate the safety and health role, services and capabilities for the purpose of strengthening and positioning the safety and health program within the company.
+ Serve as an advisor on all safety and health matters to management and field staff.
+ Perform work in a safe manner and in compliance with all Company safety standards and the directions of supervisors.
+ Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s directions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of golf course and or sportsfield construction tasks and execution sequence (technology, equipment, and methods).
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and health policies and regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
+ Knowledge and ability to understand recognized safety practices and their application in the execution of golf and sportsfield construction and irrigation tasks.
+ Ability to effectively present information to employees, managers, senior management, clients, and public groups.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
+ Demonstrated flexibility and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
+ Ability to apply experience and knowledge in one area of expertise to other areas of work to plan and accomplish goals.
+ High level of interpersonal communication skills with strong customer orientation.
+ Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft products with an emphasis in Excel.
+ Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
+ Must maintain a professional appearance consistent with the position.
+ Ability and willingness to follow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
+ Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the Company by being solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all members of the team, and meeting quality, production and safety expectations set by the Company.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employees and supervisors and respect the rights of others.
+ Regular and timely attendance during all scheduled workdays and hours is required; may occasionally require evening and weekend work to ensure completion of projects or addressing unforeseeable systems issues.
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s or Associates of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a similar field, or any combination of education, training, and experience that enable the incumbent to successfully perform the essential job functions.
+ Three years’ experience in a safety management position.
+ Prior experience in a commercial or earthwork construction role is preferred.
+ Requires a valid driver’s license and insurability under the company’s motor vehicle insurance policy.
Salary - DOE. Benefits can include free golf at certain course locations, PTO and 401K.
Position - 8:00am-5:00pm (Monday-Friday), full-time
