POSITION PURPOSE

The Safety Specialist, as part of the Quality, Safety, Risk, Accreditation and Patient Experience department is responsible for the data capture, analysis & reporting of data information to assist the Trinity Health leadership team achieve operational efficiency. Responsible for auditing department information, producing reports, & suggesting improvements to processes. Provides knowledge & expertise in the program, services & applications.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work Focus: Researches, analyzes, and identifies opportunities for improvement in program efficiency and patient experience. Distributes analytical reports and leads resolutions.

Process Focus: Uses system applications to create reports, develop materials, and apply knowledge of policies to ensure quality and confidentiality.

Data Management & Analysis: Compiles and analyzes data for operational projects, providing detailed reports and recommendations to support leadership decisions and measure ROI.

Functional Roles: Partners with departments like Quality and Risk Management to improve outcomes, offering consultation on safety and reliability at all leadership levels.

Facilitation & Safety: Leads safety rounds, trainings, and meetings with executives and frontline staff. Oversees safety improvements and culture change initiatives to prevent harm and improve experiences.

Tools & Systems: Familiar with electronic medical records, Microsoft applications, Tableau, QuickBase, and other data systems.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, engineering, or related field.

Two (2) or more years of experience in high reliability, safety, performance improvement, quality, risk management; or related experience.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification as Patient Safety Professional, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, or other related certification

Leadership experience.
