**Description:**
**POSITION PURPOSE**
+ The Safety Specialist, as part of the Quality, Safety, Risk, Accreditation and Patient Experience department is responsible for the data capture, analysis & reporting of data information to assist the Trinity Health leadership team achieve operational efficiency. Responsible for auditing department information, producing reports, & suggesting improvements to processes. Provides knowledge & expertise in the program, services & applications.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
+ Work Focus: Researches, analyzes, and identifies opportunities for improvement in program efficiency and patient experience. Distributes analytical reports and leads resolutions.
+ Process Focus: Uses system applications to create reports, develop materials, and apply knowledge of policies to ensure quality and confidentiality.
+ Data Management & Analysis: Compiles and analyzes data for operational projects, providing detailed reports and recommendations to support leadership decisions and measure ROI.
+ Functional Roles: Partners with departments like Quality and Risk Management to improve outcomes, offering consultation on safety and reliability at all leadership levels.
+ Facilitation & Safety: Leads safety rounds, trainings, and meetings with executives and frontline staff. Oversees safety improvements and culture change initiatives to prevent harm and improve experiences.
+ Tools & Systems: Familiar with electronic medical records, Microsoft applications, Tableau, QuickBase, and other data systems.
**MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, engineering, or related field.
+ Two (2) or more years of experience in high reliability, safety, performance improvement, quality, risk management; or related experience.
**ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Certification as Patient Safety Professional, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, or other related certification
+ Leadership experience.
