Safety Technician I - 1st Shift HUB

Responsibilities Engage in floor safety needs such as incident response, safety coaching (limited), PPE distribution, ergonomic assessments, safety audits, pre-pros for altered products and or new product. Facilitate new hire orientation. Collect environmental compliance data as directing including but not limited to air monitoring, filter performance readings, and hazardous waste inspections. Monitor and archive inspection supplies for all in-house powered industrial trucks (PITs). Be the primary contact for Environmental, Health and Safety issues and/or concerns on the production floor. Post new emergency procedures, update SDS files, archive incident reports, and training documentation. Assist in emergency response(s) and communication. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or GED. 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrate and understanding of corporate environmental, health and safety policies. Proven knowledge of safety equipment and standards. Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization. Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to understand OSHA, EPA, WDNR, DOT and local regulations. Public speaking skills. **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
