JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Technician will be responsible for implementing ergonomic and safety measures throughout production. This will include but is not limited to; promoting, coordinating, and maintaining ergonomics and safety practices; serving as the main resource for employees and teams on ergonomic and safety questions; participating in and preparing reports for various business meetings including the Facility Safety Team meeting; and work with and monitor individuals and teams on ergonomic and safety issues. This role will also be involved in the activity of incident investigation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Initiate, coordinate, maintain and promote ergonomics and safety.

Coordinate and assist in presentations about ergonomics and safety to various levels of management and other personnel.

Serve as the information and resources person on various aspects of the ergonomics and safety process.

Orient, develop, and educate employees and ergonomics and safety issues, concepts, dynamics, processes, and techniques.

Organize reports for business unit meetings as required and maintain summaries of these reports and documentation of ergonomics and safety related results.

Publicize and promote ergonomic and safety related successes.

Work with teams and team representatives on ergonomic and safety related issues, monitor their progress, and follow up with teams and provide them feedback.

Participate in the Facility Safety Team meetings.

Actively participate in incident investigations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Two (2) years of applicable position experience or an evaluated equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

High School Diploma or GED.

Written and oral communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Detail oriented and quality focused.
