Overview:
The Safety Trainer will be responsible for ensuring all work aspects are in line with established company and customer specifications. This can involve inspections of employees and subcontractors in the area.

What you’ll do as a Safety Trainer
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct new hire orientations in person and/or remotely which involves multiple days a week.
+ Act as the liaison between Hiring Managers, HR and IT to ensure the new hire experience is positive and intuitive.
+ Conduct subcontractor safety orientations remotely as needed
+ Operational knowledge of aerial bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenches, shoring and working around power is a plus
+ Track, schedule and oversee third party training for Texas offices while supporting other remote locations.
+ Become certified Safe Driver instructor to conduct driver training for new hires, scheduling & retraining of risky drivers as needed.
+ Primary contact for DriveCam/Lytx system, assist in the assignment of drivers and assist Enterprise driving coaches for scheduling weekly coaching’s.
+ Work together with the Fleet department to identify camera/gps concerns.
+ Backup for the entry of vehicle, workers comp and general liability incidents into the claims system. Follow up as needed for missing information required.
+ Primary contact DOT Compliance in RAIR system, become subject matter expert while partnering with Fleet Dept on projects/assignments and training as required.
+ Conduct and provide weekly safety meeting topics for safety toolbox talks/weekly safety meetings or safety stand downs.
+ Ordering PPE & safety equipment create and submit purchase orders.
+ Conduct periodic safety inspections, gate checks and Job Safety Observations (JSO) at each jobsite visited.
+ Lead the Quality Control program on Safety audits, submit deviations to Ops and Safety team, track for Safety performance.
+ Counsel and review safety concerns with employees and managers related to Safety overall.
+ Minimal overnight weekly travel or Saturdays may be required due to business needs.
+ Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
+ To be 18 years of age or older
+ Authorization to work in the United States for this company
+ OSHA30 Construction or able to obtain it within 6 months.
+ Knowledge of OSHA and Safety regulations, and the ability to become certified
+ Intermediate to advanced level computer and mobile device skills are required
+ Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft, Google Slides, Google Drive and Gmail.
+ Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements
+ Demonstrate the ability to recognize potential issues and be proactive with solutions.
+ Hold a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
+ A CDL Class “A” license is a plus and preferred.
+ A successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize and organize effectively
+ Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees and leadership, the ability to articulate effectively while presenting in large or small groups
+ You must be able to effectively multi-task and work well with minimal supervision.
+ To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to adapt to change with little to no notice.

+ Carry up to 75lbs
+ Work is performed indoors & outdoors.
+ May be required to travel to multiple locations and work remotely at times out of company vehicles.
+ Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed.
+ May require walking on level or uneven surfaces throughout the day.
+ Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist
+ Lifting is required through the workday using proper lifting techniques.
+ Lifting to 75 pounds, with or without accommodation.
+ This position will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, vests, safety glasses, and/or safety shoes.
