Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sales and Inventory Planning Analyst to join the Operations team. This role is responsible for analyzing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure product availability to maximize sales performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, an understanding of inventory management processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the business’s operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Planning & Management: Monitor inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure product availability and reduce out of stock position in key sales categories. Analyze inventory replenishment, ensuring timely orders are placed to meet sales demand. Develop and maintain inventory plans that align with sales forecasts, production schedules, and overall business objectives. Demand Forecasting Support: Collaborate with the sales and demand planning teams to incorporate sales forecasts and market trends into inventory planning models. Analyze historical sales data and trends to predict future inventory needs, adjusting plans as necessary based on seasonal fluctuations or market changes. Supply Chain Coordination: Work with suppliers, logistics, and operations teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective inventory replenishment. Assist in resolving supply disruptions, delays, or inventory discrepancies in a timely manner. Inventory Optimization & Cost Control: Analyze stock levels, inventory turnover, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize inventory levels to maximize sales performance. Identify and recommend strategies to improve inventory turnover and reduce obsolete or excess inventory. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on inventory performance, including stock levels, forecast accuracy, and order fulfillment. Use data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement within the inventory management process.Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Logistics, or a related field. Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory planning, sales forecasting, or operations. Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Excel (advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams. Ability to balance inventory optimization with customer satisfaction goals. Experience with demand planning or forecasting tools preferred.Physical Demands/Work Environment:
