WCMH (NBC) in Columbus, OH is looking for a Sales Assistant. The Sales Assistant works within established Sales Department guidelines to maximize station revenue opportunities from an order entry, traffic and accounting perspective. The Sales assistant is also responsible for performing all clerical functions required by department personnel as needed.
Performs all clerical functions for the Sales DepartmentMaintains awareness of the most current traffic policies, practices and proceduresEnters order, traffic and accounting data using computers, and other resourcesCorresponds with customers and confers with coworkers to answer inquiries and resolve account problemsPrepares forms and reportsMaintains files and other business recordsPerforms other duties as assignedReceive, interpret and input highly detailed commercial copy based on agency instructions, flight dates, rotations and multiple revisions within deadlinesWork with sales and sales assistants (both internally and on the agency side) regarding commercials and copy rotationsMaintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts to provide excellent customer serviceMaintain commercial copy instructions/filesHandle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and independently Cross train and serve as back up to team members as neededAdhere to Company policy and applicable federal, state and local legislation to appropriately schedule commercial copy rotationMaintain accurate data entry and record keeping and invoicingRequirements & Skills:
High School diplomaFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenMinimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales or media fieldsProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipmentTime management skills necessary to multitask order entry and creating presentations in a timely mannerKnowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, Excel spreadsheetsAbility to assess needs of clients/team members in order to meet the needs of the businessProblem-solving and deductive reasoning is required to accomplish tasksClear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skillsEffective use of time is very important in this positionExcellent customer service skillAbility to learn systems & terminology in the broadcast and digital worldAttitude is key to being an asset to the company, a willingness to learn the businessEEO Statement: Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
