Sales Attendant

General Purpose: Ensures that guests have a positive check in and shopping experience by attending to guests’ needs and answering questions.  Assists in administering all daily operations including, but not limited to: checking golfers in; facilitating sales; assisting with merchandise; operating POS system; and making tee sheet reservations.

$20 per hour

Essential Duties:

Performs golfer check-in, monitors daily tee sheet, and processes payments from guests and members. Operates the POS system with a high level of proficiency. Actively assists in the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop by dusting, cleaning, vacuuming, and restocking. Assists with rotating stock, keeping displays clean and orderly and creating appealing displays. Follows established opening and closing procedures. Makes tee-time reservations as needed. Assists with new Associate on – boarding when requested. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Monitors guests to assist in loss prevention. Communicates to management any inventory concerns. Coordinates with Management all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation. Participates in the inventory process. Assists in administering all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as requested. (I.E. may be required to fill in at Tennis)

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Regularly stands for extended periods, walks, uses hands, talks and hears. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, or crouches. Frequently lifts 15 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 40 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

This is an indoor position with a minimum level of noise.

None required.

Excellent understanding of all Kapalua Golf & Tennis policies, procedures and rates. Strong Bay/Plantation Golf course knowledge. Professional level verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent guest service skills – with a positive attitude. Exceptional work ethic. Ability to work flexible hours and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Adept at working both in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision. Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks given. Willingness and ability to learn about new products and procedures. Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
