Description
The Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau (VCB) is the official destination promotion organization for Lee County, nationally and internationally promoting the county’s attractions, retail shops, experiences, restaurants, and lodging businesses. The VCB’s purpose is to generate year-round visitation that positively impacts the local economy.
In the VCB sales department, the destination is promoted internationally and domestically to leisure travelers, the travel trade, and group event planner audiences through face-to-face interactions and relationship building. These face-to-face interactions are attained through attending or conducting trade and appointment shows, sales calls and missions, client events, destination education, familiarization tours, and site visits.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Sales team to include, but not limited to:
+ Provide high-level administrative support to assigned sales staff.
+ Attend internal/external meetings/events and local events to educate attendees on all the community benefits from the tourism economy.
+ Route or assist with sales leads and calls to appropriate managers.
+ Assist with tradeshow pre-work, travel calendar, follow-up, and input show notes into the database.
+ Conducts telephone prospecting and appointment-making for supported sales manager's sales missions.
+ Assist with coordinating and conducting client site inspections, familiarization tours, and special event organization follow-up.
+ Assist with new business development and lead generation.
+ Liaise with international vendors and travel trade.
+ Provide conference services for booked business including the coordination of welcome materials and deliveries for incoming groups.
+ Assist with account/database and website management using VCB's CRM and website software (Simple View, Cvent, Drupel).
+ Create, manage, and update information to partners on the VCB Simple View extranet.
+ Create presentations and collateral as requested by sales managers and the Director of Sales for shows, meetings, destination education, and more (Canva, PowerPoint).
+ Perform group marketing tasks such as writing and deploying quarterly e-newsletters for meeting planners and other markets as directed.
+ Create simple sales video assets as needed to be added and maintained on the Meetings & Groups YouTube playlist and social media.
+ Create personalized conference landing pages for booked business, and monitor/update all meetings-related content (testimonials, meeting planner toolkit, etc.) on leevcb.com and meetinfortmyers.com.
+ Utilize post-meeting surveys to evaluate planner experience, collect testimonials, and upload to the meetings website in a timely manner.
+ Assist with reviewing and editing group marketing copy (meetings, travel trade, and weddings media/collateral) as needed by the Director of Sales.
+ Build and maintain relationships with Lee County hotels, vendors, and community partners
Data and report compilation.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Requirements:
+ Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or any combination of education and work experience equivalent to a four (4) year degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
+ Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is required.
Preferred Requirements:
+ Two years of work experience in marketing, sales, organizational development, business management, or a related field.
+ Experience in the hotel, resort, or attraction industry, or in tourism or Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) roles.
+ Marketing experience is highly desirable.
Supplemental Information
+ Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish, German, or another foreign language is highly valued.
+ Computer Skills: Proficiency in internet use, Microsoft Office programs, email, and ability to learn and use the VCB's CRM system.
+ Project Management: Ability to demonstrate creativity, effective project management skills, and strong attention to detail.
