Reporting to the Vice President of Woodward’s Aerospace Services Sales & Marketing group, the Sales Director is responsible for achieving revenue and growth objectives, building and maintaining relationships, and finding new sales opportunities.
The Global Civil Sales Director leads a team of Regional and Account Sales Managers that cover operators, airlines and maintenance providers of Civil aircraft. The team’s mission is to ensure WWD secures follow-on orders and new customer/new offering orders for spare parts, repair and overhaul services and repair licensing arrangements.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead a team of experienced Regional Sales Managers.Each Regional Sales Manager leads a team of Account Sales Managers responsible for selling spare parts, repair and overhaul services for highly-engineered energy and motion control components and systems to civil aircraft operators and maintenance providers.Responsible for staffing and performance management of direct reports and their staffs.Accountable for the disciplined use of strategic account management and selling processes.Ensures sales strategies for new and existing services are aligned with business objectives.Develop and nurture top-level strategic relationships with customers.What We Are Looking For
US – Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) MBA preferred.US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business or Engineering required.Additional formal training in specialized areas such as program management, negotiations and strategic selling preferred.10+ years’ experience in progressive sales experience required, preferably in an aircraft engine or aircraft industry segment.5+ years’ experience of leadership work required.Extensive experience working with a technical/engineered product serving complex accounts and channels required.Sales leadership with large-scale sales experience (i.e. $100M +) preferred.Track record of results working for a multinational company (companies) with a diverse, global customer base required.Strong commercial skills including: selling process, pricing, costing, discount structures, terms and conditions, sales strategy development/execution, negotiating and sales proposal development.Solid knowledge and understanding of the aerospace industry, airline operations and maintenance activities.Strong leadership skills; ability to lead through other managers.Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and oral/written communication skills.Travel & Location
Ideal location would be based at one of our aerospace facilities in IL, CO or MI.Hybrid arrangements are possible with pre-agreed plans to spend 60% of time at internal facilities or visiting customers and 40% of time remote.Woodward is an Equal Opportunity Employer
