Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Sales Director to join our team in Washington, D.C.  This position will cover the Capital and Coastal states areas which include, Washington, D.C.,  Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North and South Carolina. 

 

As a Sales Director, you will: 
Provide leadership and direction to sales teams, developing departmental plans and setting priorities to achieve organizational objectives. Accountable for the performance and results of your teams, ensuring alignment with Haworth's sales strategies.

Essential Functions Maintains active presence in market, developing high quality relationships with C-Suite contacts, real estate, project management firms, and key accounts. Collaborates with Global Accounts Directors to align appropriate area resources to support global accounts clients. Lead and manage a strategic sales function: Lead and manage a strategic business development function, such as territory sales, global accounts, or architectural and A+D sales.  Develop and implement business development strategies: Develop and implement business development strategies and programs that align with business objectives and support organizational growth.  Dealer Relationships: Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with distribution partners through joint strategy planning and development for execution of market share growth initiatives. Manage sales budgets and resources: Manage sales budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).  Ensure business development effectiveness: Measure and analyze business development performance, identifying areas for optimization. Foster a collaborative partnership: Promote collaborative and efficient environments internally and externally; address stakeholder concerns, including dealer, end-user, and key influencers to foster effective partnerships.  Collaborate with sales leadership: Collaborate with sales leadership to align business development initiatives with overall business strategy for growing market share and revenue.  Drive continuous improvement: Continuously evaluate business development processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices. Performs other duties within scope as assigned. Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation. Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment. Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, sales, architecture, interior design, marketing, communications, or equivalent in relevant area of study. Education Equivalency: Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,  4 years related experience.


Work Experience:

7 years diversified sales and account development experience in commercial product sales with successful revenue generation/quota retirement results with a Bachelor's Degree.  5 years diversified sales and account development experience in commercial product sales with successful revenue generation/quota retirement results with a Master's Degree. 3 years sales supervisory experience. Commercial furniture experience.  Haworth working experience.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and/or coordination of people and resources. Sales and Marketing: Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Management of Material Resources: Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work. Management of Personnel Resources: Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Negotiation: Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.

Compensation and Benefits

Haworth offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, sales incentive bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions. We also offer a range of benefits and programs to meet our member needs, based on eligibility. These benefits include comprehensive health care coverage, a retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, and much more. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process. This role offers a salary range of 149k to 269k, depending on candidate experience, education, and skill set.
