Sales Director - Protective (East US)

The Sales Director – Protective is a key sales leadership role for The Pittsburgh Paints Company. The role will be responsible for growing and developing sales of protective products in the eastern US sales area.  This is a key leadership role that must have a strong understanding of the protective market and products, able to develop strategic sales plans and enjoys developing and coaching a high-performing sales team. You are creating awareness of our products and services and building relationships with contractors, important facilitators, influencers and end-users.

As part of the Protective Sales team, you will be remote and will report to the Vice President, Protective.

Key Responsibilities

Primary focus and accountability to drive profitable sales and grow our protective segment.

Manage the western region sales area, develops, and implements annual sales plans and expense budgets to achieve the company’s goals.

Manage and coach a high-performing sales team

Partner with corporate accounts, US stores, and other key sales leaders.

Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.

Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.

Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.

Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals.

Build and manage a robust sales pipeline for new business and membership development.

Requirements:

10+ years of demonstrated selling experience

High school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience with protective coatings is preferred.

CRM software experience preferred.

Extensive travel within an assigned region is required for customer and team meetings.
