Apply now. **A Brief Summary of This Position:** The Director of Sales oversees the coordination, functional management, and leadership of all sales activities within designated areas of the Valmont Telecom Division. This role is responsible for driving sales force productivity and achieving organizational goals, ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the assigned sales team. Key responsibilities include managing customer relationships, developing and implementing sales plans, overseeing sales reporting, setting objectives aligned with company goals, generating demand, optimizing sales processes, designing sales roles, delivering training, implementing sales programs, and recruiting, retaining and developing top talent. Reporting to the Vice President Sales, the Director of Sales will ensure the objectives and priorities established by Valmont Telecom are implemented by the sales organization in the U.S and Canada. **Essential Functions:** + This position reports into The Vice President of Sales + In support of division strategy and product-segment objectives, establishes customer strategies; deploys these strategies through the development and implementation of field sales action plans + Ensures accurate sales forecasting and planning processes are used consistently within the sales organization + Manages key customer relationships and participates in closing strategic opportunities; incubates new strategic partners + Owns preparation of commercial response to our customers. Responsible for RFQ response, including customer inputs in support of pricing; ensures contract review is complete and positioned for commercial response + Provides timely, consistent and detailed feedback on customer strategies and needs, market and industry trends and competitive information. + Ensures Business Development managers receive this input for integration into product planning efforts + Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the company. Assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed + Complete revenue forecasts and win/loss reports that illustrate sales team's overall performance against objective + Ensures 100% sales coverage. Completes accounts operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. + Develop capable teams that operate independently to drive growth in their individual regions + Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives through the sales team + Ensures the development of people, succession planning for the department and gap training to ensure sales excellence + This role requires up to 50% travel domestically, including overnight stays **Other Important Details about the Role:** + Builds and maintains strong, long-term strategic relationships with key accounts, ensuring consistent executive-level engagement. + Actively seeks opportunities to enhance the sales process and drive improvements. + Collaborative team player, able to work effectively with colleagues across all areas of Valmont. + Demonstrates strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a keen capacity to accurately assess situations and individuals. + Confident, self-motivated professional with a strong sense of integrity and accountability. + Exceptional oral and written communication skills, complemented by excellent negotiation and leadership capabilities. + Proven expertise in recruiting, training, and motivating high-performing sales teams. + Highly driven, competitive, and entrepreneurial individual eager to take on challenging opportunities. + Skilled in presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner to executive-level audiences. + Adaptable and resourceful, capable of adjusting to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines using analytical and problem-solving skills. **Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):** 6-12 bullets + Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with 7+ years of experience in sales management and leadership, demonstrating a consistent record of outstanding achievement; or an Associate’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience; or 11+ years of related experience. + Strong mathematical proficiency and exceptional financial acumen. + Proven ability to articulate a clear and persuasive value proposition to customers and partners. + Experience managing large and demanding customer accounts in a complex sales environment. + Demonstrated decisiveness in problem-solving and the ability to accurately evaluate people and situations. **Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:** + Telcom industry experience + MBA, supported with sales experience **Working Environment and Physical Efforts:** The work environment varies depending upon where the incumbent is working.
