TITLE: Sales Director (West)

LOCATION: Arizona, Virtual / Texas, Virtual 

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Primary objective of this position is to lead a cross-functional team across business units to increase profitable revenue growth globally; Responsible for constructing and leading a multi-disciplinary team comprised of subject matter experts and pre-sales or solution architectsQuota-carrying role includes solving business problems, executing winning sales strategies and developing strategic account relationships; Manages relationships from opportunity review through due diligence and final contracting phasesIncumbent must create a high-performing team in a matrix management environment where team members are motivated to perform at their fullest potential and creatively drive customer solutionsRequired to manage sales and business results in the account as if operating their own business, while acting in the best interest of the company at-large Incumbent also serves as a liaison between members of upper management, internal sales support associates and the sales team; Plans and directs all sales activities including planning and implementing forecastsManages the team’s sales activity to ensure that the appropriate activities are properly executed to gain customer commitment, build momentum and accelerate the sales cycle; Annual sales objectives include retail solutions, maintenance services annuity and consumablesWorks with sales associates to map out the key players in the account who are involved in the decision making process, and strategize on implementing an appropriate account/opportunity plan utilizing a consultative selling approachEnsures that the sales people understand the political relationships between members of the organization and the impact on buying behaviors in order to determine the most appropriate sales approach at each level of the organizationDevelops a competitive sales strategy that anticipates the competitor’s actions and utilizes effective tactics to out maneuver the competition and enable NCR to be better positioned to meet the customer’s objectivesResponsible for cultivating, developing, and reinforcing effective selling techniques that will enable his/her people to grow their business in a profitable and fair mannerSets sales objectives and proactively identifies coaching opportunities to ensure an individual’s sales skills and sales strategies are aligned to the core business and development objectivesConducts performance reviews through observation of account development and execution of sales strategies in order to give feedback identifying performance gaps which are used to develop a desired sales results improvement planFosters a team environment where all members can openly discuss and share ideas for attaining goals, and resolve any open issues regarding the team itself or a customer accountSets challenging expectations for the team and creates an environment that fosters professional and personal success by recognizing and rewarding individual efforts within the teamMotivates all team members to do the right things throughout the selling process, and allows them to feel confident that their hard work is appreciated and noticed; Provides clear direction, champions change and influences others to achieve the common goals defined in the business strategyCapable of assessing potential candidates against a defined set of attributes and skills and to select those who are most capable of performing in the sales functionMaintains and manages expenses within budget and develops a territory design based on revenue growth potential, market trends and capabilities of sales representativesAnalyzes sales activity data/team financial results and develops the necessary sales contingency plan to ensure financial profitability and successUtilizes a structured approach for identifying and measuring the quality of potential new business; Analyzes creation of solution offer and proposal development to ensure it promotes value based pricing

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline10+ years of related experience including leadership of othersDemonstrated success in technology sales; In-depth awareness and understanding of the retail market and related competition; Experience in developing and executing solution sales strategiesExcellent interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree preferred
