ChargePoint Professional Services group is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Sales Engineer to join the ChargePoint sales team. A Sales Engineer provides technical expertise and strategic sales support, acting as the key technical advisor, advocate, and colleague to sales and partners, ultimately driving demand for our products and solutions. This role bridges the gap between customer needs and product capabilities, ensuring smooth pre-sale and post-sale customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  Sales Support

Confidently present and explain the technical features, solutions, and value of ChargePoint EVSE charging products and professional services. Serve as the primary point of contact for all pre-sale technical inquiries, supporting post-sale technical questions as sites transition to Cx and project management teams. Offer guidance, triaging post-sale customer issues and escalating customer requirements to appropriate teams. Collaborate with partner and internal sales teams to ensure adequate system and site design. Provide technical reassurance to customers and installation teams during deal closures, leveraging product documentation. Maintain clear and consistent communication with cross-functional teams to streamline efforts and minimize duplication.

  Technical Expertise and Problem Solving

Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of all standard hardware, software, infrastructure, and integration requirements related to ChargePoint charging solutions Act as the go-to expert for answering sales-related technical product questions with speed and accuracy. Escalate non-standard or complex technical issues, implementations, and other non-standard product requirements to subject matter experts (SMEs) and leadership. Assist sales teams with the preparation of accurate quotes for customer installations, ensuring all technical aspects are addressed or messaged to project management groups Provide continuous feedback to product and engineering teams regarding customer issues and essential product improvements.

Support and Documentation:

Support the RFP (Request for Proposal) team in technical responses, ranging in a defined degree of simple to complex. Message technical product feedback and support development of internal documentation product documentation; subjects include EVSE, networking, and platform requirements.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of hardware, software, infrastructure, and integration solutions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences in both English and French languages Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving customer issues. Ability to work closely with sales teams and provide timely technical support. Experience in working with technical documents, such as installation guides, system diagrams, and single-line diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role. Familiarity with supporting RFPs and technical documentation. Ability to continuously learn and adapt to new product features and solutions.

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $65,000 to $177,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
