Sales Engineer
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Exlar team!
As part of Exlar’s Ground and Naval Defense (GaND) sales team creates & evaluates concept designs of electro-mechanial actuation solutions to meet customer requirements. You will provide a high-level of technical support throughout the sales process, including CAD, FEA, and actuator sizing. You will work closely with both customer and internal engineering departments to develop technical solutions, trades studies, and proposals. May require up to 25% travel.
Location: Chanhassen, MN
Salary/hourly rate: $116,500 to $158,900 + bonus opportunity

Your Challenge
Introduces new or existing customers to GaND electromechanical actuation products and capabilities via web meetings, trade shows, customer visits. Develops a thorough technical understanding of customers unmet needs.Provides pre-sale technical support to specify, optimize, and design electromechanical motion control systems using various sizing tools, perform mechanical engineering calculations, use of CAD and FEA tools. Develops presentations, trade study comparisons and proposals.Has knowledge and experience designing solutions to meet various military standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-S-901. Able to distill customer requirements into compliance matrices, design requirements, test plans, etc. Routinely interfaces and engages with engineering team.Maintains candance of communication and support to ensure customer project or program is exceeding customer expectations. Communicates status internally to leadership.Tracks developments in the marketplace (military and similar) to determine if GaND’s product development road map aligns with customer’s future needs.Develops tight network of external contacts within the industry to gain insight on Internally funded Research and Development (IRAD) programs, Gov’t funded developmental programs. Creates proposals or white papers.Use of other business tools such as ERP systems, power Bi.What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required. Master’s Degree is preferred.10-12 years of experience required. 10+ years of experience designing and selling highly engineered products to US military prime contractorsMust be a U.S person.Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-starter who seeks to grow GaND’s sale base. Ability to handle multiple opportunities and meet strict deadlines.Knowledge of hydraulic actuation systems.
