Events & Conferences is a division of Auxiliary Services responsible for the coordination of University-wide events, room scheduling of University events, management of the summer conference operations, management of a campus arts venue, and the coordination of non-University conferences and events throughout the year. Our mission is to support the academic enterprise of a vibrant research institution by providing comprehensive service and event planning resources at an exceptional value to campus departments and external clients. We are seeking a Sales & Events Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sales & Client Services, this position serves as the front-line point of contact for conference and event inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to inquiries that come in via phone, email, webform, and third-party sites Analyze requests to anticipate needs, provide proposals, conduct site tours, and coordinate venues and services Create, track, and monitor reports on past and current inquiry requests Manage a limited number of programs annually from inquiry to financial reconciliation Assist with sales & marketing initiatives Manage and collaborate with student employees Provide support to other areas within Events & Conferences such as reservations, registration, summer conference housing, and Commencement
