Primary Purpose / Regulatory Responsibilities:
An SFE Lead is responsible for enhancing customer engagements at UCB Japan by optimizing the sales team's performance through recommending optimal resource allocation. The SFE Lead supports the Head of the business unit and Sales heads, who oversee overall sales activities. The SFE Lead also participates in sales performance management-related leadership meetings for their team, as well as Regional and Global team meetings when applicable.
As part of the SFE role, the SFE Lead designs day-to-day performance monitoring and feedback cycles for the sales team and generates insights from data to suggest actionable improvement initiatives to enhance the sales team's performance. Specific responsibilities include generating sound sales targets, call plans, designing incentive and performance monitoring schemes and tools associated with the performance management process, and running the PDCA cycle. Additionally, the SFE Lead promotes the adoption of new technology to enhance omnichannel engagement impact in collaboration with digital and IT teams.
The SFE Lead must ensure strong analytical skills and effective communication among team members and stakeholders in various teams such as Planning & Execution, Marketing, Digital, and IT, including external partners. This is ideally managed through a comprehensive communications plan. Effective communication and managing the culture in alignment with UCB’s patient values are essential elements of the role when working with cross-functional and diverse teams.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Effective data excellence leadership is essential for driving growth and maintaining a competitive edge in the market. By fulfilling following roles and responsibilities, a Data Excellence Lead can significantly contribute to the success of the organization.

Strategy building in SFE
Develop solid logic and conduct the analysis mainly for sizing, resource optimization, targeting, segmentation, call planning, territory alignment, promotion effectiveness (physical, digital), etc.
Connect and interpret analytical results with business situation and explain the results with business story
Have the basic knowledge about AI, deep learning, machine learning and can communicate with AI engineer smoothly
Develop solid logic of incentive scheme to enhance the performance with sales heads
Data Strategy and Governance:
Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business objectives.
Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
Data Quality Management:
Oversee data quality initiatives to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Implement data quality metrics and monitoring systems.
Lead efforts to cleanse and enrich data to support business needs.
Data Integration and Architecture:
Manage the integration of data from various sources to create a unified data environment.
Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to design and maintain data architecture.
Ensure data is structured and stored efficiently for easy access and analysis.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions.
Communicate data insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Foster a data-driven culture within the organization.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers.
Promote continuous learning and development within the team.
Manage resources and budgets effectively to support data initiatives.
Training and Development
Lead the team to maximize the organization capabilities by developing data literacy and basic analytic skills of sales team at the same time develop capability of team members to be trusted partner.
Customer Relationship Management
Ensuring that the team maintains strong relationships with customers and addresses their needs effectively.

 

 EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION

Education Level : Bachelor's Degree,

Other : Post Graduate Qualification in Relevant Discipline Preferred e.g. MSc, PhD, MBA.

Other Certification : Veeva certificates, Project Management Certification, Qualification for Medical Representative are Preferred

Experience : 

At least 5 years’ experience in sales, sales excellence and/or external consultant to collaborate with pharmaceutical company to establish SFE or a related field. 

Experience in a leadership role is often preferred.

Broad understanding the industry is important. 

Experience of working with global, multi-cultural, diverse teams, with demanding timelines and complex deliverables are preferred.
