Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

 

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Sales Intern located at our facility in Chicago, IL.  Reporting to the Inside Sales Supervisor this position will provide support to both the inside and outside sales team for the largest steel tube and pipe manufacturer in North America. They will work internally across departments and provide support by communicating with customers.  The intern will learn the essential duties of order management, account management, and product management.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Proofread order entries to ensure accuracy and eliminate product, price, and freight errors, ensuring customers receive what they expect.Identify and understands the uniqueness of customer activity.Shadow outside sales representatives on account management.Participate in customer and teammate outings, including plant visits.Assist customers and management by providing an in-depth view of account activity and customer needs.Collaborate with customers and teammates to move material through the supply chain, from inquiry to invoice.Support the 2025 customer service initiatives, including the 6th annual customer survey.Contribute to portal enhancement development with the team.Complete miscellaneous filing and departmental projects.Demonstrate a desire to learn the responsibilities of an Inside and Outside Sales Representative.Show a drive to provide superior customer service.Lead and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Perform other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role

REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business, communication or related fieldStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilitiesAbility to travel to Internship Summit, hosted at one of our Zekelman Industries’ locations
