Director of Sales - Traction

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective Traction sales strategy within the specified market scope Regional and maintain it, to improve ABB’s market penetration and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance. The work model for the role is: #LI - HybridThis role is contributing to the Motion Traction Division.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCreate a unified 3-5 years key account strategy based on the strategic goals of the customer and market knowledge with the relevant ABB Inc. organizations in order to achieve revenue and sales targets as defined by the business leadership.•\tDevelopment of new customers and OEM’; key interface to customers and End Users; maintain and report the pipeline of the projects for North American market.•\tBid & Offer Management - Technical and commercial bid preparation for traction power electronics proposals. Preparation of tenders together with the team of specialists.•\tRepresent ABB in industry associations, conferences, trade shows and industry networking events.Our team dynamicsYou will join a dynamic, talented, and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related discipline, Preference toward Electrical Engineering or Advanced Electrical training.\t5-7 years Key Account Management Sales and related management experience with a track record of successful performance.\t10+ years of overall professional experience.\tRailway market knowledge and technical understanding of power control systems\tNegotiation skills and Strategic thinking\tBusiness development experience, rail industry preferred\tInnovative sales approaches and proven in seeking and demand creation in competitive markets\tAble to deal with complex topics within international cross functional teams\tStrong communication skills with the ability to listen and interpret real customer needs\tAbility to travel in USA, Canada and Internationally on a regular basis (Valid passport will be required); Estimate of 50% travel depending on base location.\tCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
