Job DescriptionOmni Hotels and Resorts creates genuine, authentic guest experiences at over 60 distinctive luxury hotels and resorts in leading business gateways and leisure destinations across North America. The Omni Charlotte Hotel is seeking for a dynamic, creative, high energy Sales Manager to market the Hotel's services locally and nationally, build guest relationships and business opportunities, and interact with prospective groups and negotiated guest contracts. This position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be responsible for developing and booking assigned markets with emphasis on production from small to mid-market groups. Be a part of the newly built Sales Team that is leading Omni Charlotte to the top of the charts.
This position is part of Omni's "Work from Home" policy! After your 90 days of employement you will be eligible for "work remote" privileges, in which you can earn various remote work days. Please note, there are guidelaines and responsibilities to adhere to with this program, and can be discussed further with the property.
Responsibilities Develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territoryMust be knowledgeable about all hotel capabilitiesMerchandise function space and attain maximum average rate and room rental wherever appropriateDeliver proposals and contracts within 24 hours of requestMaintain aggressive weekly phone/in person solicitationAchieve budgeted room night, rate and revenue goalsFollow Booking GuidelinesConduct site tours and communicate thoroughly site tour needs to other departmentsMaintain files, and current trace dates, accurate history and all relevant booking activityParticipate in ongoing forecast processParticipate in daily and weekly sales meetings as assignedActive involvement in industry-related activitiesFollow-up promptly on leads generated by the National Sales office, Convention and Visitors Association and other Omni HotelsClient contact and effective communication to ensure repeat bookingsTo be familiar with all hotel facilities and amenitiesTo be familiar with local attractions and businessesAssist with the career development of sales/catering assistantsRepresent the Omni Brand and Culture at all times; meeting the expectations outlined in the Omni leadership competenciesBe actively engaged with our guests and hotel associates, demonstrating and rewarding "All In" behaviorsSupport a positive work environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer serviceFollow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certificationsFollow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assetsDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savingsAttend department meetings and company required trainingsComplete other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Must have strong customer service, communication, presentation, and selling/closing skillsMinimum of 1 to 3 years of managerial sales experienceMaintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performancePrior hotel sales management experience required
ENVIRONMENT and POSITION ANALYSIS
Exterior of hotel and Interior of hotel, in normal office conditions. Sit and utilize telephone/computer for an extended period. Requires travel capabilities. Stand/walk throughout the shift and lift/carry and place objects weighing up to 20 pounds without assistance. Requires repetitive motion.
