Sales Manager
LOCATION:  SOUTHEAST REGION OF US, REMOTE WORKER HOME OFFICE:  LEWISTON MAINE JOB DESCRIPTION The Sales Manager will be responsible for maintaining a customer base and developing new customers to drive profitable revenue for the company. In addition, the Sales Manager will work to grow share at existing accounts as well as develop business opportunities for existing and new products. Elmet Technologies is looking for a dynamic, technically oriented individual with a history of proven sales experience, to further develop its position in the marketplace.  This position is intended to provide an exciting blend of commercial sales and customer interaction, while interfacing directly with operations, customer service, engineering, and senior management. The successful candidate will be technically astute, exhibit a business acumen, and work well in a team environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Develop and lead the execution of strategic sales plans to increase market share, identify new business opportunities, and grow existing accounts. + Generate and act upon sales leads, work with team members to develop new sales opportunities, and build strong relationships with key clients. + Interact with customers to understand their applications and identify the best product fit, upselling opportunities, and prepare technically sound competitive quotation responses. + Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to adjust sales strategies and forecast sales performance. + Accurately forecast sales volumes to enable efficient manufacturing and on-time deliveries. + Maintain customer information and call reports in a CRM database. + Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote our products. + Maintain technical competence with company capabilities and customer applications. + Perform other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience ideal. + Historical, successful performance in business-to-business technical sales activities and roles with a proven track record of prospecting and market development. + Technical, mechanical, metallurgical or equivalent background sufficient to collaborate with customers and operations personnel is desired. + Proficient in MS Office with the ability to develop skills in other software (ERP) systems. + Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with customers, colleagues, and management. + Able and willing to travel extensively (50% minimum) and work effectively with a minimum of supervisory oversight. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS + Must be able to sit for extended periods and drive long distances. + Typical office demands:  use phones, computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc. + Routinely communicates face-to-face, via telephone and by computer.  Must be able to talk and hear. + Must be able to stand, walk a ¼ mile without difficulty, bend, reach and lift 20lbs to shoulder height.
