Sales Manager
Sales Manager: Development and implementation of the total sales effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, supervising activities of administrative personnel, and executing sales strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction. $58,656 to $60,000 (PLUS bonuses).  Willing to negotiate based on experience. _________________________________________________________________________   + Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce hotel guest room sales in designated market segments, F & B sales and Catering/Banquet services. + Assist in developing and managing the departmental budget and monitor sales activity to ensure that contracts and proposals go out in a timely matter. Effectively communicate to all hotel departments regarding group schedules and details pertinent to the management of group operations. + Direct the scheduling of conventions and business group activities at the hotel to maximize profitability. + Responsible for development of the hotel-level tactical sales plans to support overall system wide plans strategies and programs. + Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies and trade organizations, and attend local and out of town meetings and conventions in order to generate sales for the hotel. + Regularly work files for past and potential groups to generate repeat business for the hotel. Keep trace system up-to-date and in order. + Attend weekly departmental and hotel staff meeting to facilitate good communication within the hotel.  Discuss VIPs and incoming business in detail. + Generate reports as required to measure business generated by the sales department. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing. Supportive Functions:   + Take responsibility for the implementation of sales plans. Monitor plans’ effectiveness and introduce changes in response to the marketplace, including setting targets, planning and scheduling work and performance indicators that are typically productivity and efficiency measures. + Coordinate activities with other hotel departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. + Coordinate efforts with Rooms Division in the weekly maintenance of room inventory status so as to achieve optimal levels of revenues while maintaining high levels of guest expectations. + Develop promotional programs, point of sales materials, sales blitzes, etc. + Report on a regular basis to the DOS on actual room numbers against budget and profit projections. + Analyze variances and monitor the impact of initiatives and corrective actions. + Take every opportunity to amaze the guests This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position. Education and/or Experience: Required: + High school diploma. + Must be 21 years of age or older. + 5 years experience in hotel sales + Must have excellent written communication skills, in English, combined with excellent proofreading skills to ensure content is accurate and grammatically correct. + Administrative skills to include Word and Excel. Preferred: + Delphi or similar program experience helpful. + College degree. Qualifications:  + This position involves several varying responsibilities and often requires an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.  Memory, organizational, impartial reasoning and prioritizing skills are essential and used daily.  + Ability to adapt to a fast-paced market, keeping up with changes to availability to ensure revenue optimization and lead volume. + Swift problem solving resolution and communication is required. + Treats all employees and guests with dignity and respect. + Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. + Establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff and management. + Possess sound judgment, and superior decision-making and problem-solving skills. + Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines and present and discuss creative ideas, both written and oral, within a diverse team environment and assist in implementing those ideas and/or strategies that we determine as a team. + Communicates and reports to direct supervisor any incidents or issues warranting their attention and/or involvement. + Responsible for communicating with direct supervisor and general manager any absence from work, e.g. doctor’s appointment. + Excellent customer service skills. + Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. + Ability to work varied hours, weekends, holidays as needed. + Be able to pass a background check.   + Fluent in English. + Must be authorized to work in the United States. + Computer skills. + Oral and written communication skills. + Detail Oriented. + Telephone skills. + Typing / Computer Aptitude. + Potential working days could include weekdays and/or weekends. + Working hours will typically be from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday – Friday. + Attire must be professional at all times.
