Sales Manager - Bulk Mininig Chemicals - Copper Mining - DRC
Minimum requirements for the role:
Minimum matric is essential. Tertiary qualification in either chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering is preferred for the role. Previous experience having worked in the DRC selling bulk mining chemicals or related chemical products into the mining industry is preferred. Experience calling on the copper mining industry is preferred but not essential. Must have strong market knowledge of the most consumed chemicals by mines in the democratic republic of Congo. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Must be computer literate. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing and driving the companies sales strategy and sales objectives for the bulk copper mining industry within the DRC. Developing and maintaining a cohesive national pipeline rollout implementation strategy. Running trials at customers to ensure that the chemicals that are supplied are adding value to the customers mining process. Managing company working capital and adopting a responsible prudent approach to managing stocks and debtors. Coordinating with various bulk mining chemicals manufacturers/suppliers for cost effective and efficient products for possible substitutes for existing products. Advising and recommending procurement/logistics on sources for new product lines. Conducting metallurgical test works on various bulk mining chemical products by arranging with existing and new clients as and when required. Structuring and determining monthly price lists and overseeing contractual transactions supported with accurate costings and adopting financial prudency. Structuring and implementing sales budgets and regular reviews thereof, addressing variances and ensuring key sales metrics are met and/or exceeded. Preparing budgets and approving budget expenditures. Achieving sales and gross margin targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Presenting sales forecasts and budgets to senior management. Monitoring and managing sales turnover, gross margin, fixed and variable costs, research and development, production and distribution. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
