Sales Manager(E)

ASM Global, the leader in privately-managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sales Manager with ASM Knoxville at the Knoxville Convention Center (KCC) and World's Fair Exhibition Hall (WFEH).

The Sales Manager performs sales related functions in support of the basic Marketing Plan, by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Contacting current and potential clients via various avenues including direct sales and personal visitsSoliciting and contracting events using automated booking systemsSetting up and conducting site visitsResponding to inquiries and requestsAttending various trade shows and membership eventsPreparing contracts and other related administrative functionsMaintaining communication and effective relationships with booked and potential clients, internal clients and colleaguesAssisting clients and internal colleagues to insure effective delivery of expected goalsFollowing up on client requests, concerns and problemsMaintaining a positive image with clients, colleagues and industry partnersContinuing education on industry trendsAttending and participating in planning, organizational and staff meetingsAssisting with developing effective processes to enhance workflowPromoting and fulfilling our brand promise.Assisting the department and organization with various projects and special assignments as needed.Work closely and maintain positive relationships with CVB and hotel partners.Performing other assigned duties as required.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in hospitality, business or related fieldA minimum of two (2) years previous sales experience working in a hospitality related environment, preferably in a hotel or convention center environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Must have attention to detail.Advanced oral and written communication skills.Must have strong customer service skills.Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.Excellent organizational, planning, communication and inter-personal skills.Must have exceptional communication skills with a high emphasis on customer relations and keen attention to detail required.Results oriented individual with the ability to lead.Must have professional attitude, appearance, and personality.Excellent math skills to ensure an accurate floor plansDemonstrate problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work under limited supervision and to be able to interact with all levels of staff. Must be able to pass and maintain PCI complianceMust be able to pass criminal background check

Computer Skills

Must have considerable skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, and OutlookKnowledge of VenueOps software preferred.
