Hearst Books— a division of Hearst Magazines, publishes a diverse line of lifestyle titles under the Hearst Magazines brands through its imprints, Hearst Home and Hearst Home Kids— seeks a Sales & Marketing Coordinator who will work with the Publisher and Deputy Director to help launch approximately 12 new books a year as well as continue to promote a portfolio of 50 backlist titles. This role will provide day-to-day support for all marketing and sales promotional needs spanning print, digital, social, email, PR and more. This is an ideal position for an individual with 1-2 years of marketing and sales experience looking for the next stage in their career, or for a recent graduate looking to start their career in marketing or in book publishing. The position reports to the Deputy Director.
This position is based in New York City. Candidates must be within commuting distance – our team works a hybrid schedule and is in our offices 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do:
Marketing Responsibilities
Help develop campaigns and manage marketing schedules for each new title along with some backlist marketing initiatives Create and oversee schedule for development of marketing assets and traffic approvals with group’s creative team Schedule and manage email deployment requests Pitch edit coverage for new and previously published books to Hearst editors for inclusion on websites, newsletters, gift guides, social, and other Hearst platforms/channels Optimize Amazon product pages for all titles, including uploading content such as reviews and A+ material and refreshing metadata as needed Work with PR and social media teams to initiate press mailings and media pitches; provide TV producers, writers, reporters all necessary marketing assets as requested by PR Manage all influencer and press mailings (which are mailed through the PRH warehouse) including discovering and reaching target audiences for our books Manage the remnant ad program for title assignment and selection of creative for Hearst magazinesSales Responsibilities
Manage schedule for delivery of sales materials for major sales calls to national accounts; Prepare and deliver marketing materials for distributor’s sales reps, as needed Prepare PowerPoint presentations and agendas for seasonal launch and sales conference meetings Work with the Penguin Random House client web site to capture marketing and publicity activitiesWho You Are:
You have 1-2 years of marketing and sales experience or are a recent grad; experience in book publishing is a plus You are well-organized and self-motivated, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously You are comfortable leading projects and communicating deadlines must be able to prioritize work in a deadline-drive environment You have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills You are detail oriented and have a strong copy-editing ability - you can spot a typo in a message or an inconsistency in design You can work both independently and collaboratively You have a creative approach to problem solving You are a team player with a positive, and enthusiastic attitude You are comfortable with an entrepreneurial, fluid structure in a small team You show an enthusiasm for publishing or marketing, including social media You are proficient in the Microsoft and Google suite; Workfront and Saithru platforms are a plus
