Position Summary
The Sales Operations Team Lead will oversee a team of six Sales Operations Analysts, providing leadership, mentorship, and operational expertise while actively participating in the team's core responsibilities. This is a working lead role, requiring the ability to balance team management with hands-on contributions to ensure efficient sales operations, smooth interdepartmental collaboration, and overall business success.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
Act as the primary point of contact for the Sales Operations team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
Lead team meetings to communicate priorities, goals, and process updates.
Assist in onboarding and training new team members, ensuring they are well-integrated and equipped to succeed.
Monitor team performance, providing feedback and identifying opportunities for skill development.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Operational Execution (Hands-on tasks shared with the team)
Oversee and contribute to updating, maintaining, and monitoring customer pricing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Lead internal interactions with Legal, Finance, and business units to execute customer agreements and ensure seamless contract management.
Facilitate client tenders, RFXs, and quality agreements, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
Generate and maintain sales information for reporting and operational continuity (e.g., clims, quotes).
Assist with Purchase Order management and the systemic tracking of POs/payment methods.
Collaboration with Sales and Cross-Functional Teams
Partner with Sales Leaders to identify priorities, execute improvement projects, and drive strategic initiatives.
Provide ongoing support and training to sales team members on processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and performance.
Act as a liaison between Sales Operations and other departments (e.g., IT, invoicing, customer support) to resolve issues and drive improvements.
Process Improvement and Analytics
Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across workflows.
Identify and implement best practices for utilizing Salesforce, tracking opportunities, and ensuring data quality.
Reporting and Metrics
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of team metrics and performance to Sales leadership.
Maintain dashboards for Sales operational insights, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team.
Customer Support and Issue Resolution
Manage interactions related to legal agreements with end customers, ensuring timely and accurate communication to meet deadlines.
Facilitate customer quote requests and assist in generating sales orders via third-party platforms.
Oversee system integrations and ensure smooth coordination with internal teams to enhance customer experiences.
Support sales campaigns, follow up with customers on quotes, and resolve escalations as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
3–5 years of experience in Sales Operations or a related field, with demonstrated leadership experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of Salesforce and other CRM systems
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with sales analytics and market trend reporting.
Ability to mentor and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
