Sales Producer, Commercial Lines

Job Summary: 

Quote and close commercial lines insurance sales, at defined weekly and monthly goals, while ensuring customer satisfaction in the sales process.

Responsibilities: 

Contact potential clients/customers and build rapport/trust on initial phone call through online digital, referral or other lead sources.

Create and establish a network of referral partners to establish a personal lead generation base.

Collect information on potential customer’s business to determine comprehensive insurance needs and attempt to close the sale using the value of not only price, but of product and services as well.

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

When possible, on initial call, quote, and market customers with the appropriate carrier for their specific insurance needs. Advise potential customer on best products and services to minimize risk for their business and self.

Close sale of commercial lines insurance products upon completion of quoting process.

Quote and cross-sell additional lines of business

Issue policy with appropriate carrier and follow up on any potential trailing documents required by carrier.

Education/Experience: 

1 year minimum insurance sales experience- Preferred

College degree or equivalent work experience required.

Appropriate resident and non-resident insurance agency or broker licenses required.

Knowledge of several insurance carrier’s contracts, underwriting guidelines, and their respective appetites

Knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and procedures for risk management

The ability to analyze information independently

The ability to prioritize and utilize effective time management

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to operate a personal computer using Word and Excel.

Excellent communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers using tact and diplomacy whether over the phone or in-person.

Good judgement and discretion are necessary to maintain confidence and make sound decisions.

The ability to work closely with others and to contribute actively to the work group and with the organization productively and positively is required
