As a Sales Representative with Hamilton, you will help us deliver positive innovations by developing and growing reach with customers who will benefit from our benchtop laboratory solutions. Specifically, you will be responsible for territory planning, pipeline management, and deal closure of Lab Solutions products portfolio to new and existing customers. A successful Sales Rep will bring an energetic, driven personality to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers in their territory to meet and exceed yearly growth targets.
This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager for North America on the Laboratory Solutions Sales Team. An ideal candidate will reside in Boston, MA.
Essential Functions
Manage and navigate the overall end-to-end sales process (lead to closure).Create and execute a territory plan that acts as a blueprint for meeting and exceeding targets.Identify, coordinate, and initiate action plans in conjunction with the Product Marketing Team to penetrate new customers and adjacent markets in territory.Foster strong customer relationships to expand account adoption of Hamilton Lab Solutions products.Leverage CRM (HubSpot) for lead, contact, and sales pipeline management.Provide accurate forecasts to manager and VP of Sales and Marketing by analyzing sales and trends.Optimize travel scheduling to combine customer visits, demonstrations, follow-ups, and educational sessions into a single trip.Understand and clearly present the value proposition Hamilton brings to our target customers.Generate leads by cold-calling, internet searching, networking, and other sales hunting techniques.Investigate leads, determine potential, and regularly report on this information.Attend and participate in trade shows, seminars, and conferences.Participate in meetings and strategy sessions to further company marketing and sales programs.Frequent travel required, sometimes on short notice; must live less than two hours from a major airport.Efficiently navigate region to and from customer sites, adhere to traffic laws, and ensure punctuality.All other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired
Sales skills: self-motivation, closing, prospecting, business development, planning, territory management, persistence.Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written), including the ability to interface effectively with customers.Mature territory planning skills with consistent and abundant 30-60-90 day rolling plan.Ability to travel in the USA (at least 50% of the time) and hold a valid driver’s license in home state.Ability to manage expenses and meet budget guidelines.Superior time management skills and the ability to complete tasks on time and from the road.Demonstrated leadership skills in owning a sales territory.Ability to create and give presentations, including public speaking.Proven customer relationship skills including excellent track record of successful account management.Knowledge of the markets where Hamilton Lab Solutions competes. Education/ExperienceRequired
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science or engineering from an accredited higher education institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with sales of manual and automated laboratory equipment.Minimum of two (2) years of experience selling benchtop/laboratory automation instruments.Experience building collaborative relationships with other team members.Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.Preferred
Five (5) years of experience selling benchtop/laboratory automation instruments.Five (5) years of benchtop laboratory experience or equivalent knowledge of laboratory processes (PCR, Serial Dilution, Normalization, DNA Extraction, etc.).HubSpot or Salesforce CRM and business development management experience.
