Sales Representative - Fort Worth

Leeco Steel is the leading steel plate distributor in North America that services customers in heavy industries with the carbon, HSLA and alloy steel plate needed to build critical infrastructure.  Industries served, but not limited to, are oil and gas production equipment, tank cars, structural steel fabrication, transmission & distribution, etc. Our accelerating growth in the South territory has created a need for an additional Sales Representative in our Fort Worth office to help us service several existing customers and continue expanding our customer base—so we’re looking for an outstanding sales professional to join our Fort Worth sales team.  

Responsibilities

A Leeco Sales Representative will be expected to:

Maintain and strengthen relationships with a roster of current customers for whom the Sales Rep will be primarily responsible. Grow sales in the South territory by acquiring new steel plate customers. Keep up-to-date on current industry trends, analyze market conditions, and report significant information to Sales Managers and customers. Forecast future sales by month, quarter, and year.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for a Sales Representative is:

Bachelor’s degree. 1-2 years of sales experience (Preferred, but not required). Eager to learn the ins and outs of a dynamic steel industry. Friendly and personable, comfortable making phone calls and in-person visits to customers and capable of developing long-lasting relationships with them. Motivated to grow Leeco’s sales and their own personal income. Extremely organized, able to manage a roster of 200+ existing and potential customers and schedule the necessary contacts. Detail-oriented, capable of reviewing written order confirmations and spotting any inaccuracies. An excellent writer who can communicate professionally via e-mail with both customers and Leeco team members.

Position Summary:

Perform functions to promote sales of products to distributors and end users within an assigned territory, manage personal business expenses and communicate sales trend information and customer comments to appropriate personnel business expenses and communicate sales trend information and customer comments to appropriate personnel for action. 

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Establish distributors or customers for various product groups within assigned territory.. Make sales calls to current and potential distributors or customers to promote new products, check inventories, review promotional supplies, conduct sales meetings, conduct product knowledge sessions and assist with problem resolution. Develop target accounts and specific product lines. Perform product demonstrations and instructions within territory as required. . Review distributor performance of orders received, shipments and product quantities. Take corrective action as necessary. Participate in company and distributor trade shows.   Keep informed on products, market trends and competitor activities. Attend regional meetings and participate in sales training and product knowledge sessions as required. . Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner. Assist in collection of delinquent accounts. Establish price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures Negotiate mutually agreeable terms with customers and vendors Analyze customer’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in determining sales potential

 Required Skills:  To qualify for consideration an applicant should possess the following skills.   Possession of these skills is strongly preferred for consideration of employment.

            Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing or related field preferred and/ or previous experience in Sales.

Special Skills (above average skill required): communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills, motivation, negotiation, organization, problem solving, handling outside contacts, judgment and decision making.   Ability to use personal computer and other common office equipment.
