Scope of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for providing sales support to the Galvanizing division by providing courteous, professional sales service to clients and internal departments.

 

Essential Duties:

Communicates directly with customer, purchasing agents, supervisors, project managers and vendorsCommunicates directly with internal department personnel, i.e., sales, production, shipping, quality and accountingActs as client’s advocate within the organization, maintaining client standards schedulesInputs data into ERP Epicor SystemAssists in developing and maintaining reports and various schedules (i.e. monthly invoicing, major project activity and daily reports)Works with sales to cultivate and maintain clientsAnswers customers' questions about services, prices, timelines and credit termsConsults with General Manager and Sales on price quotesAdvises customers about credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery datesConsults with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and provides ongoing serviceWork closely with production to develop lead times for customer product to ensure on-time deliveriesUnderstand the galvanizing process to inform the customer of specific needs pertaining to galvanizing their productLearn and understand all relevant ASTM specification including but not limited to ASTM A123 and A780Must be able to travel 50% of the timeAdditional duties as assignedRegular and on-time attendanceWork in your shift as scheduledGetting along with coworkers

 

Position Requirements:

Education:  Associates or college degree preferred

 

Experience:

Advanced customer service experience and/or salesManufacturing and shipping knowledge highly preferredExperience in Epicor highly preferred

 

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and OutlookMust be able to read, write and speak English fluentlyKnowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is highly preferredAbility to identify, define and resolve problemsAbility to effectively manage and prioritize competing prioritiesAbility to perceive the impact of decisions across departmentsExcellent comprehension and information retentionProcess strong organization skills and attention to detailDemonstrates an ability to use new technology

 

Physical Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching.  Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.  Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
