The Sales Representative will work with and report to the Regional Sales Manager and will be responsible for a geographic territory in SE Michigan. The Sales Representative is responsible for generating and qualifying sales as well as carrying out and managing all sales activities on assigned accounts or areas. Representatives are responsible to research new areas for potential growth and in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager, ensure customer satisfaction and manage the quality of the services we offer.

Key Responsibilities:

Aggressively solicit orders from current and prospective customers to maintain and increase customer baseMaintain good customer relations by traveling throughout assigned territory to meet with existing and prospective customers to assess and manage customer needsCompile and manage lists of prospective sales leads through cold-calling and other techniquesPenetrate new and existing market areas to maintain and increase sales and market share for assigned territoriesDevelop working knowledge of branch/regional profit and loss components and dynamics including pricing service, calculating desired margins and cost of serviceDevelop and maintain working knowledge of solid waste product and equipment pricing, costs and application to include roll-off presentation, commercial placement, front-end upgrade and full-line applicationsProvide price quotes and credit terms to potential customers and prepare sales contractsDevelop and exhibit proficiency in commercial placement, customer needs analysis, customer upgrades and customer retention and in identifying major industrial needs in the areas of compaction application including pricing, mechanical aptitude and service capabilitiesDemonstrate proficiency in preparation and organization of sales presentations to major accounts by effectively displaying and demonstrating products and services and emphasizing marketable featuresMaintain awareness of the activities of all competitorsPerform waste stream analysis to include estimation of volumes and recognition of waste streams requiring special handling or which can be recycled or diverted

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or universityKnowledge or experience in solid waste industry desiredTwo (2) to three (3) years of sales experience with thorough knowledge of sales techniquesEquivalent combination of education and experienceStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skillsPossess a valid driver's license
