Field Sales Representative covering Bergen, Essex and Hudson Counties

 

This position will be based in Elizabeth, NJ and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

 

Are you a self-confident, enthusiastic individual with a passion for sales and a knack for creativity? We are seeking an energetic Retail Sales Representative to join our New Jersey team. In this role, you will represent our distributor products to On-Premise establishments, leveraging your product knowledge and common sense to achieve remarkable sales success.

 

As an On-Premise Sales Representative, you will manage distributor business within your assigned territory, ensuring that sales targets are met through meticulously pre-planned and effective calls. You will conduct tastings at customer locations, stay informed on competitive sales trends and pricing, and maintain specific pricing structures to keep our products ahead of the competition. Understanding sales trends and the unique strategies of each decision maker in your accounts will be key to achieving deeper distribution of priority items.

 

Your entrepreneurial spirit will drive you to seek out new accounts, while your ability to listen to customer needs and preferences will help you build lasting relationships. Using data and figures, you will create persuasive sales presentations and skillfully overcome objections. You will provide continuous, conscientious service to each account, ensuring that route cards and account records are always up to date.

 

Utilizing technology for storing and downloading customer orders, and reporting sales information, you will keep management informed with accurate daily sales reports and display trackings. Compliance with all distributor policies and procedures is essential, and you will effectively handle any account-specific issues that arise. Your professional appearance, resourcefulness, friendliness, and persistence will make you a trusted partner to restaurant operators.

 

Maintaining a cooperative attitude with management, practicing safe work and driving habits, and ensuring others comply with these standards are crucial. Your timely attendance and commitment to quality, environmental, and safety standards will contribute to our team's success.

What You Will Need:

Bachelor's degree; OR Senior class standing at a college or university and a Bachelor's degree is successfully completed and confirmed by the time of hire OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 1 year of Gallo or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor merchandising or sales experience. Must be 21 years of age or older. Required to obtain a solicitor's permit as required by state/locality. Required to travel by automobile to perform job duties. Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire. Required to lift and move cases of product that weighs up to 60 pounds including lifting overhead. Required to work weekends for special functions/events when necessary.

What You Will Set You Apart:

Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years retail sales experience or 2 years wine sales experience.

Compensation:

Hiring salary range posted: $55,000 / year in commission + incentives Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
