The Group Benefits Sales Support Consultant understands The Hartford’s Core (Life, AD&D, LTD, STD, STAT) and Supplemental Health products (Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity coverage.) They are assigned to Regional Account Executives (RAE) within an assigned territory and act as the primary resource that manages the overall pre-sale process for new and existing business 50-5,000+ lives. They prioritize strategically and think proactively regarding customer needs. The Sales Support Consultant will have a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to fostering relationships with business partners.

Job Duties:

Process Requests for Proposals (RFP’s): Physicians Segment, Priority Accounts, Middle Market, Regional Accounts, and National Accounts for Core Life and Disability lines and/or Supplemental Health.Review documentation received (i.e., RFP, Census, Plan Documents, Rates, etc.) to insure we have the needed information to obtain a quote. Input necessary information into the system for processing.Verify licensing and appointment of the Broker prior to submission.Maintain case correspondences per Document Management Guidelines. Manages mailbox activity along with requests from the sales field and other business partners.Support Regional Account Executive (RAE) when out to ensure that opportunities continue to move through processSupport other Sales Support personnel when out to support their RAE’s to ensure opportunities are entered and being moved through the processPartnership with local market team including Regional Account Executive (RAE), National Account Executive (NAE), Voluntary Account Executive (VAE), Quote Specialists (QS), National Account Sales Consultant (NASC), Voluntary Account Consultants (VAC), and Underwriting (UW).  In addition to Brokers and additional office support staff.

Manage office support services including but not limited to: 

Attends and participates in all mandatory training, meetings, etc.As appropriate route incoming inquiries to appropriate internal partnersProject support as neededEscalates urgent issues to manager and proposes work solutions as necessary.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of group benefit products/industry preferred; not required.College degree or equivalent work experience.Excellent attention to detail and time-management skillsProficient with widely utilized Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.Critical thinking: Proactively identify and anticipate needs.Quick learner. Solves problems by gathering and using different sources of information.Takes Ownership – Takes immediate and independent action, suggests improvements, sets high standards and works hard to achieve them.Proactively shares feedback with leadership; champions continuous improvement and change management through identifying, planning, and implementing initiatives for the team or departmentAbility to manage multiple projects and due dates, prioritizing projects as necessary.

This role will be Hybrid work arrangement with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$52,560 - $78,840
