Support the regional outside sales effort in the construction market with a focus on key contractor accounts by handling preparing proposals, helping with the clean order hand-off, and proactively managing pre- and post-order tasks. The Sales Support Engineer will also assist with customer development and in the qualification of new opportunities. This role will report to the Area Sales Manager who will assign focus accounts to support Sales Engineers in the sales area. The Sales Support Manager who will provide overall direction for the role, streamlining of processes, training and development needs and tools and resources to support success and productivity.

This position will be hybrid in one of the following areas Houston, Austin, San Antonio or New Orleans

Role Description

Support sales on target contractors. Managing, developing, and expanding customer relationships by responding to inquiries, escalating urgent matters, and proactively updating on project developments. Assist Sales Engineers with strategic large project proposal preparation. Prepare and generate product documentation. Support Order Entry and Handover process responsibilities. Developing internal process improvements in sales cycle. Post-sale order management / change order management Technical liaison between customer and business unit. Primary point of contact and/or assists with coverage for Sales Engineers out of office. Take lead on miscellaneous requests such as replacement parts for existing installation of products. Liaison with the Customer Support organization and understand escalation paths with rigorous follow up. Position has the potential to develop the skills necessary to move into a sales position if desired. Build strong connections with key stakeholders within SI Business Units, SI US S&OP, SI US EP/EA.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering desired / candidates with varying degrees will also be considered based on experience. 0 to 3+ years of experience managing, developing, and expanding customer relationships. Candidate will reside and work within assigned territory and must be willing and available to travel for company training, business unit meetings, and territory support. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

0 to 3+ years  Electrical Industry sales experience. 0 to 3+ years Contractor/Manufacturer/Distributor work experience. 0 to 3+ years Would consider previous sales or similar professional experience.

The pay range for this position is $53,000 - $90,900 and is eligible for sales incentive bonus. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
