Job Purpose:
The Sales Support Lead will guide a team to perform administrative, clerical, and data entry duties to support sales operations. This role is accountable for the oversight of a sales support team to ensure order entry, order maintenance, and order delivery is completed timely and in accordance with MRC Global’s requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Determining appropriate routing of incoming communication to ensure successful execution.
Quickly recognize operational inefficiencies and provide solutions to improve processes and procedures to stay on task.
Maintain a live report for open orders.
Lead employees to anticipate and solve problems and plan for workload changes.
Motivate, challenge, and coach employees by providing effective feedback and addressing areas of opportunity, report to management when necessary.
Engage employees in understanding, ownership, and execution of timely response to order requests.
Set clear expectations and measure results by communicating consistently with the team.
Share information, instill vision, and create enthusiasm to achieve goals as applicable to assigned work group.
Monitor workflows throughout the department to ensure timely accomplishment of objectives.
Control, perform or oversee the activities of assigned group work including customer service, purchasing, shipping and receiving, or support to sales personnel.
Achieve maximum efficiency to increase profitability of orders.
Ensure compliance to contractual agreements in partnership with management.
Partner with internal resources to investigate and resolve any customer requests promptly.
Occasionally meet with key customers to assist in maintaining relationships and/or closing project opportunities as requested.
Perform other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.
Required Experience
High School Diploma, GED (General Education Degree) and additional post-secondary training or education.
Any combination of two or more years in customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to include demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience.
Bilingual experience is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated Proficiency with and accuracy in using MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
Willingness and ability to be on call as needed to provide 24-hour service to customers.
Willingness and ability to travel within and outside branch service area, with occasional overnight stays.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (specifically regarding department, contracts and original cost of material), to prioritize multiple tasks, and to work independently and as part of a team.

Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.
Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
