Sales Trainer, Direct Sales
Overall Job Summary

The Direct Sales - Sales Trainer will play a vital role in driving sales performance within Tractor Supply’s Direct Sales organization. This position is responsible for delivering impactful training programs designed to enhance selling skills, product knowledge, and overall sales effectiveness. Through the implementation of learning and development initiatives, the trainer will cultivate a continuous learning culture that empowers the Direct Sales team to exceed performance goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Facilitate engaging and results-driven sales training programs for both new and experienced sales representatives. Partner with sales leadership to identify training needs and implement targeted solutions to address skill gaps and drive performance improvements. Promote a culture of continuous learning by leveraging best practices and fostering an environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged. Utilize adult learning principles to deliver dynamic training sessions, including in-person workshops, virtual training, and one-on-one coaching. Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business goals. Stay informed on industry trends, sales strategies, and product developments to keep training content relevant and impactful. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training efforts with organizational priorities and initiatives. Actively participate in field activities, including ride-alongs, to provide hands-on coaching and reinforce learning in real-world scenarios. Measure and report on the ROI of training initiatives, demonstrating their impact on sales outcomes.
  Required Qualifications

Experience: 5-7 years experience in Direct sales training.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in sales, training, or a related field.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications:  None.
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities Proven experience in sales training or a sales-driven role, with a strong focus on performance improvement. Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to drive sales through learning initiatives and a commitment to fostering a learning culture. Proficiency in leveraging technology for virtual training and tracking progress through Learning Management Systems (LMS). Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to measure training effectiveness and provide actionable insights. Willingness to travel as needed to support training initiatives across locations. Familiarity with Tractor Supply’s products, services, and sales processes. Certification in adult learning principles, coaching, or related disciplines.
