Salesforce Functional Business Analyst

About this role:

Gartner is seeking a skilled Functional Business Analyst to join our Prospecting team, who will play a crucial role in optimizing our Salesforce platform to enhance business processes and improve user experience. This position requires a deep understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud capabilities and its integration with marketing automation and enrichment platforms, strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business and tech teams to translate business requirements into effective solutions.

What you will do:

Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders across IT and Business to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Salesforce functionality.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements within Salesforce to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Salesforce configurations, processes, and user guides. Ability to quickly translate conversation into process workflows.

Collaboration: Partner with product owners to build out requirements for roadmap initiatives. Work closely with IT, sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure Salesforce solutions align with overall business objectives.

Data Management: Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Salesforce by implementing best practices for data management and governance.

Partner on Solution Design: Develop and propose Salesforce solutions that meet business needs, ensuring alignment with best practices and platform capabilities. Partner with tech and business teams to propose solutions that align to the business process requirements.

Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of Salesforce configurations and customizations to ensure they meet specified requirements and function as intended.

Configuration Validations: Partner with tech on Salesforce features, including workflows, validation rules, and custom objects, to support business processes.

User Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand and can effectively utilize Salesforce features and functionalities.

Who you will need:

2-3+ years Proven experience as a Functional Business Analyst, preferably working Salesforce projects.

Strong understanding of Salesforce and its capabilities and its applicability coupled with marketing automation platforms, particularly a plus if Sales Cloud (Lead/Account/Contact/Opportunity)

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks across different projects at once

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with different personalities across the organization.

Proven experience in business process documentation.

Experience in JIRA story development and working in agile scrum teams

Salesforce certification is a plus but not required
