This position is designed to develop Team Members to the point where they can answer phones, dispatch, and provide quality service on the counter, as well as learn key sales/operational and management duties for the purpose of advancing their position within the company. The primary responsibility is to deliver and pick up auto parts from suppliers and customers, putting stock away and keeping the store warehouse clean & organized. Time will be allocated as needed to allow the TM to learn the various responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Deliver and pick up automotive parts, cores and returns from customers in a safe and prompt mannerPerform daily maintenance checks on all store vehicles and report any problems to store manager Maintain vehicle cleanliness – removing all personal belongings at the end of the shiftResponsible to collect money on COD invoices from sale of partsComplete any forms or documents regarding parts deliveries and money collectionsReceive, log and unload products into the warehouse from AI delivery trucks, UPS or other carriers in a safe, efficient and accurate mannerCounts and checks merchandise against inventory list - advises management of any shortages or overagesClean counter and work area, sweep/vacuum floor, clean bathrooms and remove trash when necessaryCounter – answer phones, make outbound sales calls, on occasion may visit customer for the purpose of delivery, collection and relationship buildingStore transfers – they must also be pulled and neatly placed in the assigned transfer table (these transactions should be treated with the same attention as a customer sale)Operational – vendor pool, receiving POs, cycle counts and other duties as neededDaily vehicle inspection – verify all drivers are utilizing the pre-checklist before beginning deliveries each day, and all vehicles are free of any new damages, scratches or dents that were not previously reportedRegistration and Insurance cards – need to be verified in every vehicle and currentPerform other duties as assignedEducation:
High School Diploma, GED, or some equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge and Experience:
Previous experience as a driver (1-2 years) preferably at AIPrevious work experience in a customer service or delivery environment preferred but not requiredMust be at least 21 years old, licensed for at least 3 years; and have an acceptable driving recordMust be able to lift up to 75 poundsPrevious customer service experience highly preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills Must have a positive and helpful demeanorAbility to speak and write English a plus Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
