Job Description
Salon Attendant – is responsible for assisting hair stylist with their guests needs, and responsible to maintain the salon responsibilities as listed below ensuring a positive/friendly environment with employees and customer relations, and to perform all assigned functions/duties in accordance with established guidelines/procedures. This includes but is not limited to adhering to all processes and all Encore Standards and ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adheres to all Encore Boston Harbor core values, property standards, and department standards.Actively contributes to the departmental performance. Delivers and maintains a maximum level of service and satisfaction. Maintains awareness of guest experience at all times; smiles and makes eye contact, communicates professionally.Ensures the Encore standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas, as well as, maintaining a safe and pristine work environment that is in compliance with The State Board of Cosmetology of Massachusetts standards.It is required for Salon Attendant to have an active Cosmetology license by the Board in Massachusetts.It is required for the Salon Attendant to take the TIPS training.Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.This is uniform position and black trousers and black shirt/top must be worn at all times.Offers an escort to and from the salon and spa when necessary.Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.Effectively maintains internal (employees) and external (guests) guest relations, which may require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.Accomplishes multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.Must be flexible with moving lunch up or down during shift in order to assist with business demand.Provides excellent hair care services for guests by exceeding both customer service & technical skill expectations.Responsible for assisting with cleanup and maintenance of Salon including, but not limited to: workstations, color bar, break room, etc.Responsible for preparing guest for hair service with the stylists. This includes but not limited to: glossing guests at sink, scalp treatments and rituals, power drying hair when needed, prepping hair extensions, taking out hair extensions, shampoo guests, sweep floor, pick up damp and dirty towels from the stations, wash color bowls, brushes, capes and makeup brushes.Responsible for shampooing guest’s hair.Responsible for disinfecting equipment, tools, brushes, etc …Responsible for sweeping floorResponsible for rolling towels.Responsible to fold capes, as well as laundry of capesResponsible for tightening up robes.Responsible to re-stock retail stations and backbar makeup.Responsible to have a clean and refilled backbar washing station.Responsible for taking dirty towels to the laundry area where the linen dispensary is and bring all salon clean linen to the salon.Responsible for keeping the salon clean and tidy.Responsible for stocking retail shelves with products from the cabinets.Responsible for assisting checking in and out guestsResponsible assisting hair stylists.Responsible to perform blow dry services when needed by stylist.Responsible to perform blow dry services as a Junior Stylist when required by Spa and Salon Management team.Responsible to prepare refreshments for our guests as requested and needed.Responsible for telling management refreshments inventory and when is needed to place an order.Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.Responsible to assist and intake backbar inventories under the supervision of the Lead Master Stylist.Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.Salon Attendant must have initiative to perform all tasks listed and have the skills to anticipate stylists needs when needed in order to achieve excellent guest satisfaction.
TRAINING:
As a Salon Attendant, we should provide you with the opportunity to shadow master stylists, ask questions, and get involved with their daily operations, learn as you go.A training plan can be created and followed through by the Lead Master Stylist in order to contribute with the ongoing hands-on education. Age, Gaming and Certifications:
18 years of age or above.
Cosmetology license from State Board of Cosmetology in Massachusetts.
Education and/or Experience:
High school or equivalent degree preferred.
Must possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Language Skills:
Conversational English required, second language a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (30) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. When on the casino floor or some back of house areas, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Team Members must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
