Job Title: Sample Prep TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Sample Prep Technician to join our food lab team. In this role, you will assist with labeling containers, washing glassware, and transporting samples. You will work on your feet all day and must have a high attention to detail. This position offers opportunities for cross-training and career advancement based on performance. Responsibilities + Assist with labeling containers and washing glassware + Transport samples to designated areas + Reduce samples to powder/liquid form using liquid nitrogen + Label and store samples accurately + Follow company regulations and maintain strong documentation + Stand for the majority of the day (90%+) + Use a 5lb hammer to grind samples + Be flexible to average 5 hours of overtime per week based on workload Essential Skills + High attention to detail + Strong documentation skills + Ability to follow regulations + Comfortable working independently + Reliability + Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel (1+ years) Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree in Biotechnology with 2 years of industry lab experience or High School diploma with 3-4+ years of repetitive work experience + Experience in inventory/warehouse settings + Ability to lift 40-50 lbs + Experience working under GLP regulations Work Environment You will work in a prep lab, which can be loud due to the use of hammers, but it is a fun environment. The lab has seen a 20% increase in tests and added more roles, providing more promotional opportunities. This fast-paced environment involves producing samples and aliquots for testing, similar to production work. The Sample Prep team consists of 12-15 employees working on 1st and 2nd shifts. The company has 400 employees in Madison, with 200 in the lab, testing food and dietary supplements for nutritional value. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.17/hr.
